BRIEF INSTRUCTION

 

The INTAKE valve seats the combustion chamber on the intake port side of the head. Prior to that, it is opening to allow air and fuel to enter the combustion chamber. In take valves usually do not suffer as severely as exhaust valve seats which see combustion chamber temperatures.

The EXHAUST valve seats we have a more severe environment because the valve seat is seeing combustion chamber temperatures, which on a normally asperated engine, can easily be at 1350F; on certain engines this can run even higher. Exhausted valve seats must resist against permanently bonded, high pressure, high temperature & reducing friction and wear.

Connecting Rod require higher performance and longer life. Due to high cylinder pressure, the operating load and temperature of piston pin bushings has become severe. Therefore, high load capacity and wear and corrosion resistance are required for piston pin bushings. To improve the corrosion resistance of copper bushing material, Aza Absolute studied the effects of adding elements to copper alloy. Aza Absolute found that the addition of nickel to copper reduces the sulfide corrosion of copper alloys. In addition, Aza Absolute were able to conclude that copper-nickel alloys can be produced by conventional sintering methods. Aza Absolute also Attempted to improve wear resistance by adding hard particles into the copper matrix. The primary goal of the study was to determine the effects of hard particles on wear resistance and the machining process.

 

 

 

 

 

VALVE SEATS

 

BRIEF INSTRUCTION

 

Connecting rod bushes used to be cylindrical. During power transmission between the piston and the piston pins, this design leads to high pressures on the area of the piston boss. The stress resulting from these pressures can cause cracks. To reduce these stresses the bearing surface between the piston and piston pin is enlarged and accordingly the small connecting rod eye and connecting rod bush are today often tapered in design The specific stresses are considerably greater in a connecting rod bush than in the connecting rod bearing. To counteract these greater stresses the connecting rod bush and the piston pins must have less play than the connecting rod bearing. Accordingly, the internal diameter of connecting rod bushes is bored down to the desired dimensions only after pressing into the connecting rod eye.
